In den Hügeln rund um die Stadt wachsen Bisnagas (Fasskakteen), die bis zu 500 Jahre alt werden können. Ihr Alter lässt sich grob an den Falten erkennen: Nach etwa 100 Jahren wachsen sie nicht mehr nur in die Breite, sondern auch in die Höhe. In der Region stehen viele beeindruckend alte Exemplare, die von der lokalen Bevölkerung geschützt werden. Auf einem Hügel im Dorf befindet sich eine schöne alte Kirche, möglicherweise auf den Resten einer früheren Pyramide. Ausserhalb des Ortes liegen zudem die Ruinen einer weiteren Pyramide.
En las colinas que rodean la ciudad crecen bisnagas que pueden alcanzar hasta 500 años de edad. Su antigüedad puede estimarse por los pliegues que desarrollan con el tiempo. En la región hay numerosos ejemplares muy antiguos que la población local intenta proteger. En el pueblo destaca una hermosa iglesia antigua situada sobre una colina, posiblemente construida sobre una antigua pirámide. Además, en las afueras se encuentran las ruinas de otra pirámide.
The hills surrounding the town are home to bisnagas (barrel cacti) that can live for up to 500 years. Their age can be roughly estimated by the folds they develop over time. Many remarkably old specimens grow in this area and are actively protected by the local community. On a hill in the village stands a beautiful old church, possibly built on the remains of an ancient pyramid. Outside the town, the ruins of another pyramid can also be found.
